In traditional witchcraft selenite is used to purify whatever object you put on it. Essentially clearing it form energies that doesn't belong to it, and bringing it back to it's intended energy. 
 
Why I like it:
 
These are great for small offerings, personally I would put crystal jewelry in it or any objects that I spelled and want to purify.  I keep a larger one on my nightstand for my phone since they are energy gets icky quickly throughout the day.
